This beautiful gemstone is also called crocodile jasper, the name is said to refer to the stone's resemblance to amphibian eyes. The stone is actually not jasper, it is s type of rhyolite - a volcanic rock where air bubbles in lava has slowly been replaced by crystals, creating stunning  circular patterns.

Genuine gemstone eggs are seldom perfectly smooth. Small geodes and cracks are not caused by any mechanical damage, they are a natural part of the stone.
