Surgical steel is highly tarnish resistant and a great alternative to sterling silver. If you need jewelry findings that last and does not cost too much, surgical steel is a great choice.

Please note: plating is a thin layer of gold applied over the base metal. This layer may wear off after a while, this is common for all plated jewellery. However, if you still want to work with plated findings, stainless steel is one of the most durable alternatives.
