40mm long and 0.48mm thick head pins, made of stainless surgical steel and plated with 18K gold. The "hat" is about 1.2mm big.

It is very common for pins to be somewhat bent, it doesn't affect the quality. Just straighten the pin before using it.
Surgical steel is highly tarnish resistant and a great alternative to sterling silver. If you need jewelry findings that last and does not cost too much, surgical steel is a great choice.
Please note: plating is a thin layer of gold applied over the base metal. This layer may wear off after a while, this is common for all plated jewellery. However, if you still want to work with plated findings, stainless steel is one of the most durable alternatives.
