Lapis lasuli is a beautiful semi-precious stone that gets its intense blue colors from lasurite and sodalite. The glittering flecks you will often see in the stone are pyrite. This gorgeous stone is often stabilized with a clear bonding agent to make the surface smoother, harder and more resistant to scratches. These beads are also treated to enhance the durability and deepen the natural blue color.
